From the Desk of the INNHS School Paper Advisers
Ilocos Norte National High School

The Ilocos Norte National High School is sustaining its stature as the Premier School in the North. It has been four years over a century of productive years of existence. It becomes an oasis of total development of individuals as has been proven in the pile of luminaries it has produced.
Presently the INNHS metamorphosed from humble beginning as provincial high school to a nationally acclaimed school. Quality of instruction, curriculum development, new buildings and state-of-the-art facilities are tangible.
Indeed the government solely cannot provide all of these things, yet the school has its own means of addressing the demands of the education system through the overwhelming support of the Local Government Units, Non-Government Organizations, Civic Organizations, Parents Teachers Association and the INNHS Alumni Association.
To underscore, the INNHS Alumni Association have exemplified selfless support to projects of the school like buildings, physical facilities, electronic information system, and financial help. With the relentless support from them in helping the school develop holistically, the tradition of victory in leading numerous competitions and tilts in the division, provincial, regional, national and even international has been sustained.
On a singular note, the INNHS Class 1955 through the leadership of their Class President, Rev. Federico I. Agnir, has given more meaning to the constructed Media Building by donating the RISOGRAPH machine, desktop computer with printer and scanner which have been used in lay-outing and printing of invitations and programs of the school, especially during the INNHS Centennial Anniversary, the 2nd Issue of The Weaver and Ang Manghahabi newsletters, brochures, misallettes, and recently the souvenir book of INHS 1955.
The editorial staff of the school publication is indeed so grateful of all these blessings because its contributory to the perennial winnings in the schools press conferences especially in the group contests wherein they are giving recognition to the best school papers in various categories: best in editorial page, best in feature page, best in news page, best in sports page and best in page layout.
To compliment the donations of Class 1955, Dr. Orlando I. Agnir of INHS Class 1953 donated a laptop computer. This unit has been used by teachers who are attending seminars, trainings, and conferences in the division, regional and national levels. The laptop has also been used in the Audio-Visual Presentations in the school, division and in the regional and national hosting.
During the pilot competition of the Radio Broadcasting, the said unit was used in the technical aspect which is an edge over the other participants. And for two consecutive years now, the Ilocos Norte National High School is one of the finalists in Radio Broadcasting in the National School Press Conference (NSPC) and won the Best in Infomercial in the recently concluded NSPC.
Another great accomplishment of the school through the help of the said unit is when the Philippine Team which includes the INNHS students won an international award in the Southeast Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), Best Web Magazine.
Last February 2010, in the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) held in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, the school bagged the Best in Feature Page.
For the coming school year there is a recommendation in the NSPC that the competition in the Photojournalism will be in digital form. This is indeed a financial challenge again for the school because Digital SLR Camera is costly. To be more competitive, the school publication would like to organize trainings to the student journalists and the use of LCD projector which is not yet been furnished in the Media Building will be of immense help.
The school is extending its unending gratitude to INHS Class 1955 and Class 1953 for their support especially in the field of journalism.
The accomplishments and achievements of the school are our humble way of expressing our gratitude for your kindness and generosity. You are our genuine partners in the quest for quality education and academic excellence.
The Ilocos Norte National High School truly became the Premier School in the North because it really builds by a community.

Babae, Tagumpay Ka ng Bayan (Isang Monologo)

Babae, Tagumpay Ka ng Bayan
(Isang Monologo)
Richard M. Collado
